Apologies for the many months without posting. I spent the past 4, almost 5 months, undertaking the planning of a festival for work. This was something that was way out of my experience and capabilities. While I am extremely happy to report that the event was a success, the planning process left me very little time for anything else. In addition to planning the festival, I also took on a second job during the summer. All this to say that by the end of the summer, I was left feeling extremely burnt out. The good news is that I have plenty of drafted posts I have been working on, and I am slowly working my way back to writing again.
Speaking of work, onto the theme of this post ! What jobs have you had? I have worked plenty of jobs in a lot of different fields. I have worked worked times in retail and even did retail management for a while. I have worked in book stores and clothing stores. I have also worked in events and office administration. I currently work in the Public History field, again doing a variety of different jobs. When I was younger, I used to think that it would be cool to just work a bunch of different jobs to experience what a regular day looked like for someone in a completely different field. Now that I have gotten older, I think I am just trying to find the balance of doing a job that I enjoy well enough ( or at least don’t completely hate) and having enough time to enjoy my hobbies while also paying my bills.
I would be curious to know what types of jobs others have had. What do you look for in a job? Are there ways you try and make a job more enjoyable for yourself? Has the location you live in affected your career, or have you ever had to move for a job?
Let me know in the comments below !
