Where would you go on a shopping spree?

For me, this one is easy: bookstores! You know the old saying, ” Buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies.” Unfortunately, this is somewhat true. In my case, I will always want more books. It does not matter how many books I have bought that are still on my TBR or how many books I have currently checked out from the library; I will always want more books. I worked at a bookstore for over three years and because of having an employee discount got into a really bad habit of constantly buying books( as opposed to taking advantage of using our local library) Given that, I would love to go shopping at any of my favorite local bookstores so I will take the opportunity to highlight them here.

1.2nd & Charles-Located at 350 E Stroop Rd in Kettering, 2nd and Charles is a new and used book and collectible store. This store is huge and you could spend hours looking in all the nooks and crannies, finding just about any collectible treasure you could imagine.

2. Dark Star Books & Comics -Located at 237 Xenia Ave in Yellow Springs, Dark Star has been selling books in Yellow Springs for over 36 years. Books on History, Philosophy, and Metaphysics sit side by side on shelves full of over 40,000 used, rare, and collectible books. Dark Star also has a resident bookstore cat, Spooky.

3. Joseph -Beth Booksellers-Located at 2692 Madison Rd, in Cincinnati, is an independent bookstore with a cafe, plus a selection of gifts. Joseph Beth also hosts special events which include an abundance of author signings.

4. The Book Loft of German Village—Located at 631 S 3rd St, in Columbus, the Book Loft is a unique book lover’s dream. The Book loft is a giant labyrinth of 32 rooms situated inside a Pre-Civil War era building giving the shop a cozy and historical atmosphere. Please be sure to leave yourself lots of time for browsing when you stop by!
