There are so many restaurants or little shops that we haven’t been able to visit yet but hopefully, by putting them on this list, I can at least help give them a little more exposure.
Restaurants
- J Y Bamboo Restaurant- The menu for this Asian restaurant looks very extensive. We pass this place all the time but unfortunately have not gotten around to stopping by yet. It would be a good date night option, especially if you like sushi. J Y Bamboo is located at 609 N Broad St. in Fairborn, Ohio. You can check out their menu here: https://jybambooasianrestaurant.menucities.com/catalog.aspx?n=alldishes
- Lily’s – Lily’s is a tropical-inspired eatery in the Oregon District in Dayton, Ohio. The menu is an interesting fusion of southern dishes meets Asian cuisine. Guests can dine on everything from Shrimp&Grits and Beignets on the Brunch menu to Bao Bun Sliders and Sweet Potato Jumeokbap. Lily’s is located at 329 E 5th St. in Dayton. You can find their Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner Menu on their website here: https://www.lilysdayton.com/
- Val’s Bakery -Admittedly, I had not heard about Val’s Bakery until recently but now that I know it exists, it seems like I have been seeing them pop up and recommended everywhere. Val’s Bakery has two locations; The full cafe and bakery are located at 25 S Saint Clair St, Dayton OH and they also have a drive-through location at 5707 Bigger Road, in Kettering. Attractions and Shops
- Miami Valley Military History Museum—The Miami Valley Military History Museum is located at 4 E. Main Street in Fairborn, Ohio. According to their website, The Miami Valley Military History Museum was founded in order to: 1. Bolster and preserve the memory of the veterans of our Armed Forces past, present, and future. 2. - Clifton Mill/ Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve- While I have visited Clifton Mill for the Christmas Lights, I have never visited or eaten at the restaurant during the off-season. Similarly, while I know my parents took me to Clifton Gorge often as a child, I have not visited as an adult. Clifton Mill is a Historic site with a vintage mill, covered bridge, ’40s-era gas station & casual American eatery. The Mill is located at 75 Water St, in Clifton, OH. Located at 2381 OH-343 in Yellow Springs, Clifton Gorge encompasses a 2-mile stretch of the Little Miami State and National Scenic River, just east of John Bryan State Park. In addition to being one of the most magnificent limestone gorges in the state, the nature preserve is also reported to be one of the best spots to view wildflowers in the Spring.
